The annual Blessing of the Sea commemorates the Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s Ascension into Heaven. This special event will be different this year due to COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines, but we hope you can make it out to join us for this most holy ceremony.

(Note: Some information in the August 2nd, 2020 bulletin pertaining to the Blessing of the Sea is incorrect. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.)


Mass Schedule

  • 2nd Street: 8:30am & 4:30pm
  • 13th Street: 7:00am, 10:00am, & 5:00pm
  • 40th Street: 4:00pm

Vigil Masses on Aug. 14th

  • 40th Street: 4:00pm
  • 13th Street: 7:00pm

Blessing of the Sea (13th Street)

  • Rosary: 9:25am
  • Procession: After 10am Mass

On the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, we take part in a special Rosary celebrating the Luminous Mysteries which begins promptly at 9:25am at our 13th Street location. This is followed by the celebration of Mass at 10am. Following the Mass, a procession will leave the Church and proceed up 13th Street to the beach. At the shoreline, the blessing will take place. After the blessing of the sea, a floral garland will be cast into the water.

    Looking forward to the Blessing of the Sea. My husband has stage 4 bladder cancer. We know the blessed waters, will give him comfort and hope hope for our Blessed Lady’s intervention with her Son, according to his will.
