Get to Know Our Parish
Worship & Music
The Office of Worship and Music works to create experiences of prayer and community that are beautiful and inspiring: parishioners involved in liturgical ministries provide hospitality as people enter the church, prepare materials for mass, distribute the eucharist, and proclaim the word, and trained musicians fill the church with the colorful sounds of a variety of instruments, adding exuberance to our communal song! Nurturing community outside of parish liturgies, the worship and music team, in a weekly event called Music Ministry Wednesday, brings together young people and their families for an evening of eating together, singing together, and playing together.
Faith & Justice
The Office of Faith and Justice Formation is committed to imparting the gospel values of Jesus Christ to our parish community. Our Catholic faith calls us to witness to the fundamental truth that human life is sacred, and that the dignity of the human person is the foundation for a moral vision for society. Grounded in Catholic Social Teaching, the Office is devoted to expanding our parish’s commitment to service and action, charity, and justice.
Faith Formation
The Church has always recognized parents as the primary educators of their children in the Catholic faith. What parents have to share most is their own faith and their willingness to live it. Lived example is the best teacher of the Catholic faith.
The Faith Formation Program offered by St. Damien Parish is based on that truth and aims to support parents in this important role.
The goals of our program include:
- to provide a solid instruction in Catholic doctrine and morality
- to initiate children into the life of the Church by instruction and experience in its sacramental activity
- to challenge young people to a life of love for and service to their neighbor
- to help them develop habits of prayer
- to help the youth find ways of connecting with the Church.
Hispanic Ministry
Our Hispanic Ministry celebrates a the vibrant cultural exchange, strong faith, and traditions with the broader Anglo community, working together to serve a living God full of love. The activities we have, such as posadas, processions, rosaries, masses, fiestas, kermes and the celebration of La Virgen de Guadalupe, are essential elements of many Hispanic traditions and are a beautiful way to keep our faith and culture alive. This ministry plays a vital role in preserving and sharing with the two cultures and our faith at St. Damien Parish, as well as fostering understanding and cooperation between its community.
Grief Support
Grief is a normal and natural response to the death of a loved one. St. Damien Parish seasonally offers a grief support group. This provides time and support for each individual in order to move on with their lives after the death of another.

Seminarian Support
My dear family in Christ,
As we approach Thanksgiving Day, one more time I remind myself of the imperative need to thank God for His blessings, for His love, for my vocation, and most importantly, for all of you. The spiritual, physical, and financial support that I gratefully and prayerfully receive from St. Damien Parish has been pivotal in my vocation. I truly appreciate the undeserved and extraordinarily generous support from St. Damien Parish, my home. Father Tom Newton has been fruitfully instrumental in my desire to become a priest. Without his devoted support, unconditional prayers, and vocation of service, this journey would have been much harder for me! Thank you, Father Tom. May the tender and loving presence of Our Lord bless you always.
In Christ,
Dcn. Ricardo Lozano
Ricardo Lozano
